I'm trying to pull off lower unit for the first time and it gets stuck after about 1/4 of inch. I did remove clutch shaft nut and separated the clutch shaft from the clutch rod. Did I forget to remove something else, or do I need to ply (force) it to remove it ? All book says is to remove 9 bolts and separate the gear case assembly from the drive shaft housing. Is there a trick ? I didn't want to force it and break something before checking with someone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Ron

Re: Suzuki 93 DT65 lower unit

jl_photo,
Thanks for your reply, but I found my problem...
The initial problem was that gear case housing was dropping about 1/4 inch and it would not go any lower. After messing around for second day, I noticed
little bit of space between drive shaft housing and drive shaft bearing housing ( some people calls it spacer). This is where water pump is mounted. There is a small hole in front of where what pump is... I just put a small screwdriver in there and lightly plied it and wa-la whole thing dropped. Lucky thing I didn't have my foot under it.

Now I'm back to my original problem... oil leak .
There were oil around clutch rod and around water pump when drive shaft bearing housing was dropped down.
I guess I need to go ahead and pull whole thing apart to install all new
seals and O rings. I was hoping not to pull whole transmission out to replace the seals, but this is only way to pull the drive shaft housing. I'm taking my time to minimize amount of stuff I need to take apart, because this is first time I'm doing this.
