I have a DF 140 4 stroke 2004 that has the same problem the last 5 or 6 times out. Throttle up to 4K and it cuts out. Have tryed the usual, plugs, filter and new gas. It will run at 4 or 5K then drop to 2 or 3K for a moment then back up then back down just like a fuel block. The whole time the fuel gauge is bouncing up and down like it is something electrical. Then after running awhile it is fine for the rest of the day. I thought today it must be the pickup in the tank and suddenly it was o.k. but the fuel gauge made me think it was electrical. Any ideas?

Re: Suzuki DF 140 problem

I owned a DF90 for three years with zero problems & was told when I purchased it (repower) to make sure my start battery was the biggest available as the Johnsus liked a clean power supply. Perhaps you have a battery on the way out or a loose or dirty battery connection.

Re: Suzuki DF 140 problem

sounds to me you have a fuel problem

i would hook up a fuel pressure gauge after the hp fuel filter.
run the motor it should constantly stay around 32 psi. if you see it drop you have a fuel delivery problem.

could be
dirty vst tank/ bad hp fuel pump.

drain the vst in a clear glas jar and let it sit for a minute and see what you got.
