suzuki df 50 can't drop lower unit

I have a 2002 df50 that never sees salt water. I am having trouble removing the lower unit. I have disconnected the shift shaft and removed the six bolts. The unit will drop, with much prying, about 1/4 inch, and then will not budge. What am I missing? the service manual mentions nothing else. The unit has not been removed since new.<br /><br />thank you

Hi,<br />Check at brownspoint.com and Parts Look-Up for the DF50 parts list (probably PDF file).<br />Check the various pictures there and see if you have removed all bolts etc. I had before a Suzuki DT65 and if I remember correct it was also a bolt under a plate close to trim tab, called sub water filter. Check if similar on Your DF50.
