Folks,
I'm looking for information and advice on my 2002 Suzuki DF115, which has water leaking into the oil passages for a second time. The first time, the problem was a broken bolt, which meant the entire mid-housing (below the power head) had to be replaced. Now the dealer's mechanic says there could be a leak in the cylinder head or gasket, but he can't know for sure until he rebuilds it all. If it doesn't work, I'll have spent almost enough on the motor to buy a new one.
There were posts in August from Parrotthead and AlwaysFishn' (http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=419818 ) on the same problem with DF115s. A couple of replies mentioned corrosion problems with the engine holder -- but I must confess, I'm not sure what that is. I'll ask the dealer about it. Should I also ask for a compression check to make sure the cylinder head is OK?
I've sent Parrotthead and AlwaysFishn' private messages, asking how their situations turned out. I'd also appreciate help from anyone else.
Thanks very much.
