I just bought a one year old Suzuki DF25, and when it is ran, it has trouble pushing my 13 foot v-hull to a plane. We dont know what the problem is, possibly a prop with to much pitch, or if the throttle is to slow, we were wondering how to adjust the throttle, or any other ideas to fix the problem. If it helps, the old motor was a 17 yr old suzuki 30 hp. so i'm figuring it lost some of its power due to age, but it pushed it just fine. So, what can i do?

Mine is doing the exact same thing - 14ft aluminum - 14P prop - does not seem like it is hitting full RPM - no tach to check. Takes forever to get on plane - only 18MPH top speed. Put in new plugs today - went for a run in the bay - R/H plug is light grey and clean - L/H Plug is a nice golden brown.
Compression is good on both Cyl's.
Any suggestions???
Thank you.
