Suzuki DT 140 hi revs no go

I was out fishing today and my Suzuki DT 140 (2 Stroke) was running great. I shut it off for a few hours and when I started it up to go as I applied more throttle it started to over rev and went from 2000 rpm to 5000 rpm and the boat didn't move, it seems like a slipping clutch on a car. I'm wondering if I have a prop hub problem or a linkage problem. Where do I begin to troubleshoot?
Thanks in advance.

mark the prop and hub, run it to see if the marks change.
Or pull and inspect, but most spun hubs can not be seen by just looking.

If it works OK at low RPM then I would think spun hub

I pulled the prop off and found some wire and lots of fishing line on it. I don 't know if that could cause he trouble, How can I replace the hub?
