I have a 1999 Suzuki DT 150 outboard motor that has been an excellent, reliable motor until now. When the key is turned to the on position you can hear the fuel pump kick on but no warning buzzer. After the normal pre startup check the rev limit light remains on. When I try and start the motor, nothing happens. I have check for loose connections, have not found any. Looking for some dorection on diagnosing, any help is appreciated.

Hello Cannis32, Do you have a wiring diagram for the starting system that you can follow if so that will be your best source for trouble shooting.

I do not have a wiring diagram. However, I found one lose connection just off the ignition (key), brown wire. Now the motor will crank, but still no warning buzzer and still no fire. Could it be a bad neutral switch? When the key is turned to the on position, the fuel pump kicks on and does not shutoff like it used to just after the buzzer would stop. Also, the Rev Limit light does not clear.

First off I would locate a wiring diagram for it, Check amazon.com for used book because they have good pricing. Was this engine running well before this happened? Never the less I would perform a compression test and a spark test on plugs. Then go forward from there if all is good. You cant do electrical diagnostics without a manual if your a newbie at this anyway. Keep at it though!
