Suzuki DT-55 too short

I have a Suzuki short shaft DT_55 ,It is too short for my boat. The cavitation plate is out of the water when at half throttle, and it cavitates often. Is there a way to extent the shaft on this engine at a reasonable cost, (like a kit)?
