Suzuki DT 85 Impeller Rotation Direction

I just got this engine and the impeller dissolved. Got a new one, but not sure of the correct direction to put the fins on install. Help would be appreciated. With the unit out, and looking down from aft, would the fins be clockwise or counterclockwise?

Simple to find out, turn motor over (crank it) and see what direction flywheel turns. Drive shaft turns that direction and the fins trail

Thanks, that is what I thought, but wanted to be sure. Every post I read said to be sure to put the impeller in the right direction.

Spent the early 70s in Waco, went to TSTI and worked at several auto dealers and independent shops, met a lot of women there,and fished the main and smaller lakes around the area. But the coast is where the fishing is at and I love it, except when the hurricanes show up, just had 11.5 " of rain this past week and it killed the fishing

install the impeller to the shaft,spray with glycol or dishwashing liquid, lower the housing to the impeller. with one hand rotate the shaft clockwise with the other push down on the housing.

Sorry about that, The sun finally came back out yesterday and I must have got a touch of heat stroke or too many cold ones.
Happened to notice he is in Waco and just drifted off

no worries.
spent 8 years in Cleburne TX, got to fish some of the lakes and spent lot of time fishing the brazos behind whitney dam.
now I live in Colington Harbor NC,keep my boat in the water tied up and never have time to fish.

sounds like your priorities may need a little tweaking.
You have to make sure your motors are run often and might as well fish while you do that
