So, I've read that there's a way to read the hours on a Suzuki outboard. Turn the key on only, tach will sweep and indicate 1000rpm for every 100 hours, rev limit light flashes for every 500 hours. I get 3 flashes on the rev limit light, no rpm sweeps. 1500 hours right? Does that sound right to you guys?

Nope, unless you have a actual hour meter on there you won't be able to tell the hours .... the tach just does that to show its functioning ...

Actually the later DT200's do indicate hours by the rev limit lamp only. Each long flash represents 100 hours, and a short flash would be another 50. If you have three long flashes, the engine has 300-349 hours. Two long and a short would be 250-299.

Really lakensea? That would be great news. This was a commercial boat used to find unexploded ordinance so I was thinking that the hours would be extremely, extremely high.
