The Tohatsu has one carb. The Suzuki is a much more powerful engine up to half throttle, then their equal. The Tohatsu weighs 101 lbs....If your carrying them around the Tohatsu will keep you out of the hospital. If you are going to leave it on the back of the boat the Suzuki has a lot more hole shot.

Suzuki DT25 C vs Tohatsu 25 2stroke

It's time remotor my fishing boat. I have a line on both a Suzuki DT 25c and a Tohatsu 25 2 stroke.
Opinions on reliability, performance, parts availability, design, etc.
I think the Suzi has 3 carbs and the Tohatsu has 2, other than I'm out of info.

I agree with the last post. You won't beat the Suzuki DT25 for power. They are very reliable, but finding a good mechanic to work on them might be hard. I can tell you the DT25 are used very heavily in the BWCA where there is a 25 HP restriction. They carry heavy loads very well. They are quite heavy though. I don't know the exact weight, but I would say 125+
