Suzuki DT25c carb, will it fit a DT30c???

To cut a long story short, the idle mix screw on the top carb of my 1995 DT30c had seized to the carb body - a screw extractor failed to get it out, so I'm stuck!!! I can source a top carb from a DT25c 1989 model.

It's a long shot I know, but does anyone know if the carb body is the same? I can obviously rob all the bit's off the stuffed carb and get a new mixture screw. on my parts diagram - they look identical - but have different numbers obviously. Just hoping the 30hp developed it's 5 extra horespower from carb jetting or something else in the engine - not the size of the intake?

you can yes, but it has to be a top carb .... use everything from the original carb and build it on the new, as you described ......

Thanks deejaycee for your help in this and the other post, luck has it it is the top carb, so hopefully all will mate up okay, will find out in a day or two. I'm in New Zealand and finding parts here is damn near impossible! It's my only hope it fits!!!!

it will fit, don't worry, the engines are basically identical but are they from the same model year? .....

No they are differing years unfortunatley, mines a 1995 DT30c and the donor carb is a 1989 DT25c. On paper (parts diagram from brownspoint) they appear identical - I know they are essentially the same motor as both stemmed from production 1988 until 1998.

yeah that should be fine ..... I had my air/fuel screw break off flush in the carb ..... I took it out with an easy-out tool, worked great .....
