After some running issues, I replaced the throttle position sensor and she is running ike a dream!!! Just purrs and so smooth - has as much go as my previous Merc 40hp!!! A few problems though - when I give it the gas all the way to full throttle, she revs right up there - it does however seem to flatten out with no response in the last 1/4 of the remote? Is this normal.

Also do I have a rev limiter, and when does it cut in? - I don't have a tachometer, but after I gun it right to the throttle stops, it will run fine for exactly 10 seconds then the revs drop to what I guess is 4000rpm - it would not be lower - I presume this is the rev limited cutting in because I am over revving the engine??? Will a higher pitch prop help.

Still have the bloody red LED light lit on the engine cowling, and I have eliminated everything it could be I think - short of the CDI - is there a reset on this 1995 engine? All ther sensors test fine as does cooling, oil etc. It just will not go out, it is there from the minute you flick the key until you turn it off - with no alarms though. I have also tested the alarms and they work, just this red light is haunting me!

You'll have to check the throttle throw at the powerhead linkage to see if there's any relationship between the control box and the amount of response. If the control box has actuated the engine linkage all it can by 3/4 of the control box throw, there's your answer. If not, there's your problem.

The 25/30 seriously need to be tached out for proip. The rev limiter kicks in between 5500-6300, but when it comes in, the engine bounces and shakes so much you NEED to get off the throttle; it doesn't just lose power. And there's another problem for you to work on!

The red light probably indicates the filter between the oil tank and the oil pump is clogged, an often-overlooked item.

By the way, the throttle plates need to be balanced, and the timing switch set with a voltmeter, so if you haven't done that, you need a 'Zuki service manual.

a bigger pitch prop will bring your rpm down yes, try the pro-pulse 4 blade adjustable pitch prop, I run my 30hp suzuki 46.6 mph on that prop .....
