Last weekend i took the boat out and went through about 4 gallons of gas, about evenly split between idleing and high speed running. The oil level in the tank only dropped by about 3/4" or so. I'm not too familliar with this boat yet, so i didn't know if this was normal or not. I also mixed the gas at 100/1 for a little added insurance until i knew if the oil injection was ok.

The O/I system will run about 150:1 at idle up to 50:1 at WOT. The gauge on mine crapped out and I didn't want to spend the bucks on a new one, so combining that with my forgetful age, I just filled the reservoir every time I got fuel.

filling the resivore is no problem, i just wanted to make sure it was getting enough oil. thinking about it not, 3/4 of an inch is probably 3-4 ounces of oil for 4 gallons of gas, so maybe i'm fine.

3car .... yes it is getting enough oil, don't worry about it, just keep on checking that it actually uses oil, but no need to mix 100:1 with aswell, the suzuki have one of the best oil injection systems ....

Re: Suzuki DT40 oil injection question

My oil injection bottle is missing. I was told to mix 40:1, is this alright? I also have a "chewed" up plug wire, because of the cover latch pin ripping the wire. Does anyone know if I can replace the wire seperately? The plug wire looks expoxy'd to the coil. It's a 1992 model.
