hello
so i bought myself an old dt65d. (i think its about 1980's? and cant find any stamps anywhere?) was told it runs great etc
got it dropped off at home to find the ignition key missing, so got a new ignition switch to find it would'nt fire up, i've pin pointed it to the cdi unit, part number 32900-95211,
does anybody know if there's another type of unit that will do the job or does it have to be this one? its just that i bought it for 300, a new unit is another 400 and i'm not sure if the engine is any good? (it does look in good condition)
so any help would be great,
many thanks dan

Re: suzuki dt65 cdi unit

How did you determine it was the CDI?
Have you tested anything?

Re: suzuki dt65 cdi unit

I take it the power you speak of was peak voltage readings like service manual calls for in testing.

Make sure the kill wire to CDI is not grounded some where as that is how the key switch and safety switch turn off the motor.

I do not know of any thing but the CDI made for that motor will work on it
