This is a 1986 Suzuki DT75. The motor was running fine when I put it in the water this year but now when I accelerate from any throttle position it doesn't take off right away it slowly increases speed (5 seconds or so) and then finally takes off like it should. Also when I decelerate the engine surges/coughs/searches and doesn't seem to stay steady at one speed, it will eventually even out. Any idea what this might be? I am still waiting for the manual in the mail so if I have to adjust the mixture a little explanation would help. Thanks!

I think you maybe need to take those carbs off and give them a really good clean ... soak them in carb for 24hrs then use compressed air to get into the hard to reach places ... good luck

I sprayed some carb cleaner in the carbs when I got home and ran it for a few miles and it seemed to take care of it. We'll see though.
Thanks
