Can anyone tell me what the warning light on a 2008 df25 suzuki 4 stroke outboard is hooked to? Mine is comming on after about 2 minutes at full sped. As soon as i go to idle it shuts off and i can go again. Does not sem to be comming on at about half throttle. Could this be overspeed? Wrong prop??

Any help would be great.

Thank you.

Re: Suzuki engine light..

That light is a "Caution Lamp".

CAUTION SYSTEM

The caution systems are designed to alert you to certain situations which make cause damage to your outboard motor.

To inform you that the caution lamp is working, it will come on for a few seconds after the engine starts.

OVER-REVOLUTION CAUTION SYSTEM

This system is activated when engine speed exceeds the maximum recommended speed for more than 10 seconds.

If the system activates, engine speed will automatically be reduced to approximately 300 r/min with the caution lamp lit.

This system must be reset by moving the throttle to the idle position for about one second to restore full engine operation.

The caution lamp also covers OIL PRESSURE CAUTION SYSTEM and COOLING WATER CAUTION SYSTEM.

Hope this helps...
