Suzuki numbers???

Just got a little 16' jon boat with a Suzuki 30 hp. Great shape, runs marvelously on our Rainbow River (idle only river) here in FL. Appears to be a good engine, though I am at a loss to find any serial numbers on it. I was told it was around a 1987, but cannot find any tags on the sides, in front, on rear, inside. It's puzzling. Any ideas/suggestions???
Also, any suggestions on hitting the grease fittings for the remote steering (like where they all are). Might anyone know of any exotic websites with photos of this stuff?
