Considering a Suzuki 4-stroke 140 HP OB. Should I consider another manufacturer?

The Suzi has an excellant rep, but you should always consider the options. John/Suzi 140, Honda 135,150, Yamaha 150.....is 140 your max or minimum hp? Does price matter? The dealer is very important, reguardless of the brand, for your overall enjoyment. Look at all the forums on motors to see which cause the most grief. Have fun with whatever you buy. Good Luck

Everybody I have talked to loves the 140 4 stroke and all suzuki four strokes for that matter.

I think there is a lot of interest in the new Mer Verados but some folks want to see how they hold up first.

A client of mine has twin 140 Suzies on his boat and loves them and told me they hate gas????

I think it mostly depends on dealer support. Nobody makes a crappy motor anymore (with a few debatable exceptions). Check on the reputation of any dealer you are considering before making a major purchase. If there's only one Suzi dealer within 500 miles, I'd strongly consider something else. But as a product, I'd expect them to be a good choice. You might also have luck with Bombardier Johnnyrude dealers for service. I'm not sure if they can do warranty work, however. Physically, yes. But contractually???
