Thanks to the two gentlemen that replied. However, each gave a different answer.
I have two wiring harness' that come to the console. One goes to the ignition switch, the other to the Suzuki monitor. Each has a yellow wire in it and my engine does not have a pigtail loose that I can hook up to. The harness to the ignition switch also has the grey 12 volt key on hot and the black for the ground.
So, if I am to connect to a yellow wire, I have two to choose from.
1993 Suzuki DT 115.
Any suggestions?

Re: Suzuki tach installation confusion

to bezerk:
Thanks for the answer. Since I posted, I've talked to a Suzuki Dlr. Its the wire that is in the harness that goes to the key switch. That yellow wire was just hanging there, cut and stripped. I was told to connect that wire to the signal post on the tach. I did that. When I turned the key to on (not start) the needle moved just a hair. When the engine was started, the needle on the tach just sat there on zero.I re-checked all the connections and they were all tight. That wire is 16ga. There is another yellow wire in the harness that connects to the plug unit that goes to the Suzuki Monitor gauge.
That wire is either 18 or 20 ga.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

There are two wires the yellow one and another. The one for tach and the other for temperature... Than the black and grey. The black and grey is for the das lightning. Than i think its the yellow one for tach. Does that 115 perform well? I've a 140 dt but its quite older. never run her on a boat...

recheck your connections on tach ,some times where they put the id marks it is a little confison make sure you have 12 volts with key on at tach gray wire + black - you have the right yellow wire the other is for the last light on the montor gauge
