Sorry guys this is along story
Invited to a sea resort to fish on my friends boat.Motor 65 hp sukieeee ''dont know year,
it is on a half cabin about 15ft.
Maintaince is zero steering stiff cables exposed,
battery terminals yuck. Petrol tank leaks at plastic gauge.Just trying to give you the pitcure of things. After 1 hour of trying to get this thing started ,which always starts first time, after pulling plugs and checking thur wiring. Got fuel but no spark. Then i see this plug like button on control box. i says to him do you have to push this to start, as i do it it starts and he says no what button. Thinks to mt=yself must be plug to hold button in some where.Mate says no never seen it. Find cap under seat and put on runs fine.Cant believe him his boy as raced motor bikes for years and they all have kill switches. My motors dont have these kill switches so i was a bit behind in finding it.
Sorry again for long story but i traveled 500 miles to go thur this, All this is happening in the new marina $80.000 pluss berths with 3 million dollar boats around us.Ok to the promblem
Two people in the boat it takes awhile to get on plane, when it does it runs at 25mph at wot if you back of a bit it surges ,thought it was a fuel promblem but if you prime bulb makes no difference.Get 3 men in the boat will not get on plane, has not got enough revs. Cheched prop was bent abit fixed that but it seems to me that it is over proped. It has a 15 inch prop on it now and it is not slipping as i marked it and it stays in the same place. Motor does not rev hard enough .Looking at motor booklet that comes with motor it should rev at 4800 -5500 rev this motor comes no where near it. Revs fine at idle but not under load. i think it is over proped for his sake as i did not do any comp tests. This motor as alot of prop sizes in booklet but i think he need a 13 inch prop as i recon its about 1000 rpm under powered. Am i on the right track.
