Ok, would like some concensus on this one. I have a 1990 Bayliner Ciera 2665 Sunbridge (9' 6" beam wich later grew up to be the 2855 in 1991), 454 Bravo II with aprox 1000 hours
on the motor and 500 hours on the drive. Engine and drive runs great. However, there's a couple of 1986 Bayliner Contesas with new 350 chevy vortex motors with Volvo duo props that
can pull away from me. At 4000 rpm, I can hit around 31-32 kts, but I just don't feel comfortable running the engine that hard for any length of time. So I'm looking for a little more speed and have had it suggested that I could do so by switching to the Bravo III lower unit which will bolt right up. I understand that
will also improve my fuel burn as well as decrese the rpms I cruise at.

So here are my questions:
1) Will the Bravo III lower unit bolt right up to my existing unit?
2) Will it improve the fuel burn, top speed and ultimately, lower my cruising rpms?
3) The 454 having aprox. 1000 hours on it, what is the max rpm one should cruise it at for a period of time?
