swapping coils

can anyone tell me if it would be ok to use coils off a 115hp evinrude on my 85hp 1975 evinrude? thanks in advance!

You could go the parts breakdown for each engine and compare part numbers.

If the part numbers are the same, then there shouldn't be a problem. 85's and 115's of the comparable years had 99% of the parts that would interchange with each other.
