swapping cowlings

quick question guys... i have a 1989 outboard yamaha 2 stroke 200hp... can i fit a different year cowl on it... thining about putting a newer year cowl on it like a 1994 etc... is it possible... just curios... my cowl is in horrible shape...

You could paint it, or find a used one in better condition...new cowlings are pretty darn expensive$$$! Good Luck

i was thinking about repainting it but the cowl is kinda broken lol... some cracks and broken tabs... however the engine was just redone with a new block...

Maybe search around on-line for a good used one from an outboard parts dealer....I'll bet a New cowl for your motor might run $1000 or more! Good Luck!

Did you try looking the part # up on web sites to see what all would fit?
