Swapping Engines - outdrive question

I have a 97 good 3.0LX mercruiser with a 1.94R outdrive. I have a bad 99 3.0 mercruiser with a 2.00R outdrive.

I put the 97 engine with the 2.00R outdrive. Is that OK? or do i need to leave that 99LX motor with the 1.94R outdrive?

kind of confusing ....

Thanks for your help.

Re: Swapping Engines - outdrive question

well it is 1.94, but what are the risks i'm taking? could it cause damage, or just not work properly?

also, if i do change the outdrives, should i just need to change the outdrive or the transom also?

Ayuh,... Realistically, the 1.94:1, the 1.98:1, 'n the 2:1 are the Same ratio...

Direct swapability...
