Swapping Ignition Systems

I picked up a motor yesterday that someone had swapped the ignition system on. They had put an early 80's powerhead on a 1993 Evinrude 110. They went back with the ignition system from the 1933. Would this cause any problems that anyone can see? Timing, Carbs etc.? The carbs are from the early 80's motor. I am sure more information is needed but the real question is can you update the ignition system to a newer one? Thanks in advance.

OMC made the V-4 in many HP over many years with all types of options. (VRO, regulators/rectifiers, twin power packs vs single), etc. The basic concept was the same, but there are differences in connections & flywheels. Who knows what people have swapped out over time? As long as it is used as an assembly it will work. The problem comes when YOU try to decide what you have for parts? I believe the smallest HP was 85 to largest 140. The HP did not determine the type ignition system used.

OK. The flywheel is the newer version and the complete system is on it. I appreciate the help.
