I got some newer logs for my 87 weeres and I am wondering what is the best way to do the swap? It's on a bunk trailer now. The old logs are 20' x21" the new logs are 22"×25" the new ones have the sloted track to hold carriage bolts. Do I try to lift one side at a time off the trailer and slide the new log under or set it in the ground and do it there? With the different diameter and mounting style the bunks might need to move in or out to sit centred? Any ideas????? Any past experience ???

I had to replace one log on mine when i bought it.. previous owner hit something at speed etc. I just unbolted the log, jacked up that side using foundation jacks and slid the old one out.. then slid the new one in. I found it easier using the trailer bunks to guide it in place. For me the size of the logs were identical so your mileage may very. Likely you may have to adjust your bunks a bit.but that should be fairly easy once the log is in place just loosen the bunk brackets and nudge into place.

With larger OD logs, yes, there will be more 'toon hanging out on each side of center, but the center of the logs shouldn't change (unless you want to for whatever reason).

I would think the outside dimension would be the same and they would just be closer together, the 4'' difference would transfer inside, the boat would still be 8' wide.

Probably a lot of drilling involved since you are using 2 different companies tubes and you may run into some bracket spacing problems, you don't say 16'' or 24 center.

they are kinda gonna fit where they do as you have to line them up with the existing crossmembers.

I would try to get any extra tube out the back as most toons are aft heavy.

By the way, LOGS grow in the forest, TUBES crafted form aluminum ,sorry, pet peeve of mine.

The old logs sorry tubes are 24 on center and the new ones from what I can tell are all over the place from 12 to 23 on center. My hope is with the slotted track style mounting flanges on the new ones that most will line up or be close.
