I have a 1968 mercury 500/50 hp outboard. ( in-line 4 cylinder). I am looking for a replacement powerhead, as mine has 2 cylinders with low compression. Can anyone tell me if the powerhead from a 1966 model would fit mine. The 1966 is also a 500/50 hp model, same as mine, i hope. Thank you for any info, and merry christmas to everyone.
