I have a 70's model 60 horse johnson on my boat now and its in non running condition. However I just traded for an old evinrude lark in the 35 horse variety. My question is can I attatch the lark to the transom bracket for the 60. Just checkin my options before I pull the 60 and plug the holes to go with the clamp style mount on the lark. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

There are no parts on those two motors even remotely compatable. You will have to plug the holes.

Make sure you use a transom plate or other method of preventing the motor from twisting sideways off the transom. Don't think it can't happen to you. It happened to me. While running at full throttle. In the deep channel of the Intercoastal Waterway (Salt Water).

Re: Swappinng outboard mount.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I was figuring on but wanted to check for the minute possibility it may work. When you say twisting sideways are you meaning the whole motor rotating clockwise or counterclockwise, and walking off the transom?
