I am looking at purchasing a platform like the one below, but I need to know the distance from "A" to "B" in the picture so I can make sure it will fit on my boat. I have searched for this platform everywhere to get the dimensions, but all they ever list is the depth, and the width. So, if any of you have a platform like this, I would greatly appreciate your help. :D

Re: Swim platform dimensions

I installed one just like that except teak last year, I dont have the dimension right now but I could measure and get back to you tommorrow if no one knows in the mean time. I will measure when I get home and check back on Wed. Just recalling from memory it seems to be around 8" - 12" but I will verify.

Great! Thank you for the help! So did the teak one you put on have the same type of ladder as the one pictured, or was it the one step kind? My wife doesn't think she could get in the boat with the one step version, and the only ones I've found with the ladder like the one above is in the poly. I would like to find a teak on with the telescoping ladder if you or anyone else knows where one is sold. Thanks again OW!

Re: Swim platform dimensions

Unfortunately mine is only the single hoop step ladder like your describing. I would have to agree with your wife it does make entering much more difficult because your leg is so bent its hard to use the power of your leg thus makes you use your arm to start things off. Also mine is on an outboard transom and with the two support bars on the sides of the platform it is very confined on that thing. I do A LOT of water sports thats why I got it in the first place, but it isn't quite what I had originally hoped it would be. I am glad to have something back there so it is better than nothing. I ended up rigging up an old ski handle on about 4' of rope that I can loop onto my rear cleat when people are getting back in to help pull them selves up. Those bars are stainless and when wet with tired hands they aren't much help to pull up on because your hands slip right back down them. I am trying to find a telescoping ladder that I could accomidate some how. I will post back measurements on wed.

Re: Swim platform dimensions

That dimension on mine which looks to be exactly the same frame is 10" from the top of the platform to the center of the hole in the mounting bracket. So your A to B measurement might be 1/2" more could figure on 10" and be pretty safe. Good luck with it and remember to take the transom angle into consideration when mounting. I used a torpedo level on mine leveled it up and used a sharpie to mark all holes then I sealed bolts, washers, nuts, and holes well with 3M 5200.
