Switch Box Interchangable?

I have a 1984 Mercury 115. Shows to use switch box 7778A6. Will 7778A9 work? Can't find a definite yes or no. Thanks in advance

The 7778A9 is for an 86 so just checking to see if someone can confirm

The a6 or a9 suffix has to do with minor changes / production run / supplier.---It will interchange.
