I'm trying to get a 1982 150hp Mercury running. Serial# 6101147
I bought it not running. The switchboxes, stator and trigger are toast and when replacing them the wiring is swapped from the only diagram I can find. The diagram I found on maxrules.com shows the wires in the yellow bundle feeding cylinders 2-4-6 to be connected to the outer switchbox. All the wires are correct except which switchbox it is attached to. The yellow bundle is connected to the inner switchbox and the others are connected to the outer. Since the only connection between the switchboxes is the jumper, does it matter which box is in which position as long as the wires feeding them and going to the coils are matched and correct?
This motor does not have the idle stabilizer or high speed advance module.
