if the little green light next to a switch does not illuminate, do s it mean that the switch is bad or that the accessory controlled by the switch isn’t activated ?

My bow and stern light switch suddenly won’t illuminate after I was working on the bow light itself.

Thanks !

Does your bow and stern light still work ? If they do then the little bulb is probably burnt out

Sorry...no I have the bow light disconnected and I’m not sure the stern light pole I have even works. Thanks

Could mean the switch is bad.
Could mean the little light is bad.
Could mean the bow light isn't completing the circuit.

It all depends on your switch and how it is wired.

It worked until the bow light was disconnected is kinda telling. Hook it back up to see if your lights work again.

Is the wiring to the bow light isolated? You may have created a short and popped a fuse.

Normally the pilot light will light with the switch in the ON position even if a load is not connected to the switch. The fact that the pilot light did work and now doesn't, says you popped a fuse and there now is no power to the switch panel. Do the indicators work for the other switches?
