I have a older Newman 16' Fish and Ski fiberglass tri-hull

I would like to install a Switch Panel in the passenger console, how would I go about cutting out the fiberglass to do so? as in what would be the best way to do it, and what tools are required

Re: Switch Panel Installation

use a 1/4 inch drill bit. drill the corners, a jig (sabre) saw with a fine toothed blade. tape the area you are going to cut, draw your lines on the tape, cut thru the tape to help keep from chipping.

Re: Switch Panel Installation

I did what TashaDaddy said except I used a rotozip to cut, and a shop vac to capture the dust. You definately don't want to breath in the dust.

just want to ditto and expand on the above....

dont forget the tape.....

and glass does not ever break down in the lungs......when doing WHATEVER with glass...allways wear a good face sealing dual cartridge resporator mask...the elcheepo paper face filters do not work in those sitruations....

and good eye protection.....bolth are a must
