Greetings All,
On my 29' Larson twin 4.3ltr, I switched from twin SS mercury 3 blade 19P x 14-1/4 props to
twin Solas Amita Aluminum 4 blade 17P x 14-1/2" props. NIGHT & DAY IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! Planes so much quicker, I don't even use my trim tabs anymore. Also it's faster out of the hole. Slow speed handling is so much improved. The only thing lost was 1 -2 mph at WOT. So worth the trade off.
I wished I've done it a lot sooner!!!

We have had lots of nice Solas 4 blade results.Of course part of your hole shot improvement is the pitch change I think you will find it stays on plane better at reduced throttle, will likely handle better in rough conditions.

Not being sarcastic, but that is what happens when you reduce pitch. Since you can handle the top end loss, you are a winner. Glad it works for you.

I had about the same reaction. I feel like i put in a larger motor. The boat does everything better. Enjoy.
