Hey everyone, (alpha one, gen one)

I have a question about the gimbal housing access plug, shown here in my photo. I see that it is used to better access the Swivel Shaft and Shift Lever.
My question is? How come they don?t have you drill an access hole on the top too and not just the sides? If there were an access hole on the top, wouldn?t it make it easier to take off that nut on top of the Shift Lever? And, if the Swivel Shaft was stuck in there, you could hammer it out then couldn?t you?

Oh, and I saw on a website that a Swivel Shaft is like $250! what? I thought it would be $20. I will probably look for one at a salvage yard.

because there is a shaft above the arm that goes into the upper housing. it supports the steering ring and allow the drive to turn left and right.
