Picked up a 1999 SX 175 before the season began for the kids to have some fun on. (They don't like sailing because "it's boring daddy".) Anyway, we've had the boat out quite a few times & they're are really enjoying it. Now they want to go trout fishing this weekend, which brings me to my stupid questions. First, the jump seats in the rear, how do you pull them out to use them on the fishing platform? (Haven't been able to figure this out.) Second, the factory installed fish finder was removed so for fathers day the wife purchased me a new Hummingbird that I now have to mount. I plan on using the original wiring as the snake for the new but I don't see any transducer on the hull/transom or any evidence one existed. Was the original transducer mounted inside the hull or something? In other words, don't bother even using the existing transducer wire as the snake for the new one. Should I simply just go with the transom mount option for the new one? Thanks for dealing with the "newbie" questions.

I don't know if you have "gotter dunn" yet , but it sounds like the old one is an in hull or "shoot through" design . Typicaly bedded in epoxy in the rear half of your boat . The one with your humminbird should work well on the transom and should give the watter temp too . I'd suggest mounting a block of vinal trim plank to the transom with 3m 5200 then screwing the transducer to the block. peter

BTW wich Humminbird did you get ?? they shold have a dash mount kit so you can fill the ugly hole in !!
