Hello everyone. I am new to boat ownership, but not new to boating. I recently bought a 2002 Stingray 190CS with 3.0 GSP-A engine and the SX-M 1.97 drive. The boat was in great condition, but while I was washing it for the first time, I noticed something on the drive. On the right side, the thrust plate was missing and there was scrap marks from the gimbal ring. See attached pictures. The left side is fully intact with no wear marks. For right now, it trims up and down ok without making contact. I am not sure what caused this, but I would like to fix it and replace the thrust plate. Is there some sort of alignment that is off and how can I correct it? Any other advice about this boat would be appreciated.

Yes, it is #5, 7, & 8 are all missing on the left side. All that is there are two holes and an indentation where the plate once was. I'll try to upload the pictures again. If you can see the pictures, the ear on the gimbal ring has made contact with the anode plate and upper housing. Also, there is a small flat spot on the ear on the gimbal ring. The right side is fully intact. Would running aground cause this?
