Hello,

I have a 1957 35hp Lark. I rebuilt the carb and ignition... put it all together and it is running. I am taking it out on the lake tomorrow to adjust the needles. Is there anything I need to do regarding syching the carb? I have heard it talked about , but , I have never done it. Is there anyone who could advise me?

Thanks,

Tom

Re: Synchronizing with carb on 1957 35hp

Here's how I do it. Pull the cowl, put the shifter in F. Turn the throttle all the way clockwise. Now turn slowly counterclockwise and watch the cam roller. When it touches the advance plate, that shoud be pretty close to Start. Watch inside the carb throat as you slowly advance the throttle to Fast. The carb butterly should open smoothly as you turn the throttle and be fully open at Fast. If not, adjust the roller or advance plate until it does. That's about it. If I've left anything out, others will correct it.
