Synthetic blend oil in older engine

I have recently purchased a 1988 Yamaha 70 H.p.<br />oil injected engine that has been run exclusively on the Yamaha Yamalube oil. Would it be o.k. to switch to a synthetic blend oil be it Yamalube 2-M<br />or Pennzoil synthetic blend. What could happen to<br />the internals?

Any NMMA rated TC-W3 oil will work well, Bennie.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
