synthetic oil in lower unit

I had a rebuilt outdrive put on my 87 boat last year,This year I drained oil and it was really clean.I filled unit with synthetic pennzoil oil,and when I checked it the next day it was a little milky?Would this happen if it was put in to outdrive that had regular oil in it before?I have not had boat in water yet,and oil that was drained out was like new.Or could it just be air,would like to hear from anyone that uses synthetic in there mercruiser alpha one outdrive,THANKS.

I use the synthetic Pennzoil in my 01 Ocean Pro O/B lower unit, did not see any problems when i changed over to it. If it had sat up for awhile you might had some condension built up. Like to hear what you find out

Hello again,does anyone know how to flush out and clean the lower outdrive to get out any contaminated oil.THANKS

synthetic oils aerate which makes them have a milkyish appearance but if u have ever seen milky LU oil and aerated oil you will konw the difference.. Let it sit for 6 days or so and it should settle and it should come out alrite .. If water comes out first your screwed.. Or maybe its just the fill and vent rubber washers.. But if not water comes out and the oil is better but still different then when it was new its fine
