Hello,

I have a 4.3 mercruiser and the T.P senders wires go through the transom but are not connected to anything. They are ring connects at the end of the both black wires. There are wires by the distributor br/w and black that have bullet connectors. I know the br/w runs to the dash for the gauge. What am I missing to connect the T.p Sender and the b/w wire?

Thank you

I have two sensors on the outdrive. One that is connected to the Trim pump with two black wires go out the transom and on the other side there is a T.P - Trim position sender with two black wires going in through the transom with ring connectors.

I think the 2 black wires that come in the starboard side of the out drive are for the trim gage. Mine go into the harness from there.

I dont know what make model or year you have.

I have a sea ray 1988 seville. I just bbought the boat and noticed this. I have all the seloc manuals but it does not show it. But the br/w wire does go into the wiring harness but the wire has a bullet connector and the wire from the sender is a ring. So it looks like something goes between it.

Re: T.P Sender wiring

You have two "gadgets" on the side of the outdrive. One is a trim position sensor - it goes to the gauge and lets you know if your drive is down / up / or somewhere in between.

The other is a trim limit switch. It keeps you from trimming the outdrive too far up while underway. This is the switch that connects between your trim pump and switch on the controller. Over time, the wires go bad on this switch and most people disconnect or bypass them. If they are disconnected, you simply use the trailer button to raise or trim your outdrive. If they have been bypassed you can use either the trailer button or the up button.

Since it is a pain / chore to replace, most simply bypass the wires and be done with it.

Most would say that the Seloc manuals are "lacking" to say the least. (Usually stronger language is used ;) ) Someone will come along shortly and post a link to the OEM manual for you. Much more helpful!

Ayuh,....

This Manual is Not a Seloc....

I gotta believe things have been changed,+ moved about in that boat since 1988,....
Find the wire for the Gauge,+ Your Golden..... No Matter the type of connector that's on it....
