Hey everyone!

As always thanks in advanced!

I have a early 1991 20' CC outboard with a 7' 6" beam and getting the basic sunbrella allumin. t-top constructed.

The place thats welding the t-top for my boat asked that the grab rail be removed so that t-top aft legs fit nicely on to the console.

Question1:
What do i do with the holes that are left from the old grab rail? I don't want my clean console to start looking junky with a bunch of empty holes etc.
I know it's a lame question- but how should I make it look nice again after the top is installed.

To those who already have t-tops in place- do you find your canopy top adequate for the shade you were looking for. Wish for bigger / smaller now that its installed? Is it what you expected as far as coolness under the top?

Question 2: Do you think that this is enough shade? (What's being built is a 54" x 60" top. My console is about 47" wide )

Any insight would be very helpful!
Thanks Dualie.

Re: t-top - 2 questions?

ya could fill in the holes and do the glass work to bring it back to looking original. i've never done that as it looks like a lot of work to get it right. my cheap fix on my old skow has been to put the screws back in the holes and be done with it. i did have three holes on my bow i didn't want to put the screws back into though. for them, i went to the hardware store and got some white plastic plugs and silly coned them in the holes. it didn't come out to bad and sure was hardly any work to do at all. just depends on how far ya want to go to make it look good... someone good with glass could fill the holes and make it look like new again too i'd think...

i don't have a cc like you, but i do have a sliding hardtop. i just can't tell ya how much difference in temp there is between the hot sun and being underneath the top in the shade... much nicer in the shade... as for coverge. i don't know. the more the better though as ya gotta chase the shade around a bit depending on how the boat sits in relation to the sun.... i also use the fact that my top slides fore and aft to get the shade where i need it... so bigger the better i'd think if it's stationary.. best info i can help ya with since our boats are dissimilar designs.. mines a closed bow plain ol speedboat...

yeah, thought of the screw idea as well. Will probably end up doing something like that for a quick fix for now. Maybe some silicone or something as well.

thanks ziggy for the feed back!

Anyone else out there with a T-top that would like to comment?

Thanks again!
