Tach for 3 cylinder, 2-stoke outboard?

I was given a 1990 Spectrum 17' with a 90 hp Force on it. I'd really like to add a tachometer to the instrument panel but I can't seem to find one that looks like it would work for a 3 cylinder, 2-stroke engine. There is a purple wire in the harness that is labeled "Tachometer" so it seems like it should be an easy add. I don't need anything fancy or pretty, just functional.

OB tachs work off the stator. They are independent of engine cylinders. Find a tach that works on Force OBs and see if your motor is listed.
