I have a new (old) boat I just noticed that when I turn off the motor the tach needle does not stay at zero rather it drifts up to around 2k and stops there. Please advise a remedy.

Re: TACH ISSUE

The tach is not spring loaded, it's more like a reostat, so when you turn the motor off, you are also killing power to the tach. Therefor it just stays basically where it was when you killed the power.

It does not draw any power once you turn the key off.
