Ok so i took the engine out yesterday and it worked like a charm, however, at WOT the tach would jump around and my volt meter is reading high 16 volts. I attached the volt meter directly to the battery and this is something new. To me it seems that since the tach is bouncing around at WoT and that the battery appears to be over charging, i need a new rectifier. I read the sticky at the top of the page regarding the regulator upgrade but saw a post that RRitt made, so basically i dont want to make that adjustment until i actually know the problem. So my question is, do you think that a replacement rectifier will solve the problem and if so, i heard Radio shack sells them cheap. If thats the case which one do i need for my FORCE in the signuature. Thanks for the help guys.

You will find that even the new rectifiers run at higher voltage. That is why the maintenance manuals tell you not to use a maintenance free battery as they cause the battery to use water. Put the regulator on and you will not have anymore problems with high voltage and your tach will settle down.
