i have a 91 spectrum with a 90 horse force motor. the tachometer don't work and i have checked for loose wires under the dash and at the motor.. can somebody tell me where the wires hook up at the motor and what color thay should be. or how to check it.. the needle jumps a little when switch is turned on so i think its getting power.

Gray wire connected to the stator at the rectifier. With the key off the tach normally sits at about 1000 RPM. When you turn the key on it should go to 0.

Heres a picture of my rectifier. There are 4 wires coming out of it. The 2 yellow wires connect to your AC wires coming from your stator under the flywheel. The red wire goes you your circuit breaker so it can give your battery a charge. And the black wire is ground. Connect your tach wire to one of the yellows. Either one should work, but if you' re getting weird readings try the other yellow. I hope this helps.
