yes i just install aftermarket tach wired like it said , it powers up but no signal

What model motor, and what kind of tach? If this is a 90A, it's intended to use an alternator-signal tach, but an inductive unit should work. If you are trying to use a coil-signal tach, it probably won't work, as the pulse is very short in duration.

The TLDI has a special tach that is used with the onboard diagnostics.

Yes i have a 1996 90a not sure what kind of tach but i will see if i can find out tonight. the instruction showed you what wires for tohatsu

Aftermarket tachs are problematic on Tohatsu's. Those tachs usually have erratic readings.

i have a tach that come with motor can i hook it up without trim sender it has white and yellow but no ground.

Yes its a tohatsu gauge i went home and checked to see if motor was charging battery and all motor voltage was 11.8 idle and WOT. does charging circuit work tach.

Yes, it's an alternator-triggered tach. You may not be charging.

I assume you followed the tests in the Factory service manual to diagnose the rectifier, right?

i checked the solid white and solid yellow wire coming from stater to rectifier it had 0 ohms on both have not check rectifier yet
