Yes i have a 1996 90a not sure what kind of tach but i will see if i can find out tonight. the instruction showed you what wires for tohatsuWhat model motor, and what kind of tach? If this is a 90A, it's intended to use an alternator-signal tach, but an inductive unit should work. If you are trying to use a coil-signal tach, it probably won't work, as the pulse is very short in duration.
The TLDI has a special tach that is used with the onboard diagnostics.
Aftermarket tachs are problematic on Tohatsu's. Those tachs usually have erratic readings.
Yes its a tohatsu gauge i went home and checked to see if motor was charging battery and all motor voltage was 11.8 idle and WOT. does charging circuit work tach.Does the tach have TOHATSU on it?
thanks i just ordered a rectifier.Yes, it's an alternator-triggered tach. You may not be charging.
I assume you followed the tests in the Factory service manual to diagnose the rectifier, right?thanks i just ordered a rectifier.
