New to the forum.
I recently picked upa 17 ft Apollo with a 70 hp Johnson on the back. The motor is an 89, boat is a 79. Noticed the gauges weren't hooked up, so I went out and purchased a tach harness. Had the boat out for the first time with the harness connected, and the tach seemed to work, but once the revs hit about 3500 it would bounce to 6000, then back to zero where it would stay.
Does this sound like an issue with the gauge itself, or something a little deeper?
