Tach jumps when the key is first turned on, then goes back to zero
and stay there. The battery is being charged while running. Does
this mean the Tach is bad? What kind of a reading shoud I get off
the gray wire at the tach?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Tach Question

When the engine is running it stays on zero. It only jumps a little bit
when I first turn the key on.

Re: Tach Question

Check your wires..... under the dash and in the shift control box.

Re: Tach Question

At idle, the gray wire = tiny voltage. Rev the engine and she should read up to 3,4,5 volts, etc. Nothing specific, but barely any at idle and a few when engine is revving.

Re: Tach Question

I would venture to guess you have corrosion on some wires/contacts somewhere.
